A member asked:

Bought a chapstick with sea buckthorn extract in it. i've never heard of it before, is it safe during pregnancy?

No data: There are no studies on the safety of sea buckthorn in pregnancy. However, since you are using it in very small quantities on your lips its unlikely to hurt your baby but this is a guess. If you want to avoid even the smallest risk, you shouldn't take it. Best wishes!

Caution: Chapsticks may contain sea buckthorn extracts but extracts from other plants like hemp seed oil as well. While there are probably no adverse effets to the pregnancy, it is probably best to stick with something that has nothing but glycerin in it.
