My friend claims that she got strep in her bloodstream and developed mono which later made her develop lymphoma...is that possible?

Mononucleosis: Epstein-Barr virus does infect lymph nodes and is associated with some, but not most lymphomas. The vast majority of people who contract mono recover uneventfully (although the virus remains in the body quietly).

Sounds confused: You don't get strep in the blood and not end up very sick and in an ICU.You can have mono and strep at the same time, but this combination is not that unusual or linked to more lymphoma.EBVirus (mono) is linked to lymphoma, but since almost everyone gets EBV by the time they are adults, it is hard to prove a causal link to most cases. Your friend believes whatever she believes.I don't buy it.
