Had mono a year ago, lymph nodes never shrunk. got checked today ultrassound, largest one 2cm. recurrent low grade fever. mono back or lymphoma?

Further w/up needed: Any Persistent enlarged lymph node,especially,2cm,should be further eval with a Biopsy!Other factors to consider, do you have anemia?, abnormal chemistries, night sweats ,weight loss? When was your last CXR? ,do u smoke?.. You need further evaluation!,, please comply, Good Luck

Might need a biopsy: Chronic mononucleosis can be debilitating, so my thoughts are with you. However, enlarged lymph nodes can represent many different things, not just chronic mono. If your doctor believes that your blood work suggests something OTHER than chronic mono, then you might want to have a lymph node biopsied to be sure that there isn't something more serious lurking, such as lymphoma.
