A member asked:

My 12 year old daughter has an odd bony growth at the end of her clavicle where it meets the sternum. it feels like a bony overgrowth that sticks out.it is about the size of a pencil eraser and can be seen sticking out through the skin. it is not painfu

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Benign Growth: I would not be concerned. This hard nodule can be a ganglion cyst or an osteophyte, most likely the former at her age. I will only be cosmetic since cancers are rare at the joint or end of the bone. The resulting scar may not be worth the removal.
