To me, the key: word is "significant." And I don't know how old your son is. Persistent vomiting can result in strain of the anterior abdominal muscles, and they may ache for a few days. But it would be unusual for this to be a very severe or "significant" pain. It is a good sign that his fever has resolved, but if he has notable pain, especially in a specific area/localized, you should pay a visit to his doctor.

That is possible, but: if the pain is that significant, I would recommend having him examined by his doctor to be sure it isn't anything more than that.Does he have diarrhea? Fever? Travel history?Eat something different from usual? Sore throat (strep can cause abdominal pain, and vomiting along with sore throat)? The answers to these questions, along with an exam should help to figure it out and get him feeling better.
