Visit the doctor: Western ("allopathic") medicine is not perfect. However, it is scientifically-based, and generally administered by professionals with good training, experience and ethics. Practitioners of "mind healing" may not adhere to the same rigorous standards, and the advice you quoted sounds irresponsible. I would suggest seeing the doctor. You might then use "mind healing" as an added resource.
