I went to urgent care wednesday night due to my sore throat and fever, told me i had strep throat and gave me antibiotics. well my throat still hurts and now my gums are sensitive, swollen, and uncomfortable. what should i do? is it still strep throat?

Swollen gums: Swollen gums is a VERY significant condition. You might need special therapy - would check this out ASAP.

Positive test or no?: While some providers assume strep from looking at the throat, some of the worst looking throats are from viral infections. It would not be odd for you to have persisting soreness 3 days into treatment, but the gum swelling is unexpected.You can also have strep along with a virus. Salt water gargling/rinses can help through the weekend, but if this persists, have a recheck.
