Knee pain: A direct hit without any twisting is probably OK. Where it hurts is important. Usually in a fall only the tibial tubercle takes the force. That is BELOW the knee and temporary. If you hit a rock you might hurt the kneecap tendon-more persistent but temporary. A twisted knee swells and we must consider internal problems that demand much more information as to specific motion pain.
