They are related: Localized Myeloma(one spot of tumor) is called a Plasmacytoma. Once the disease spreads to involve many parts of your bones(bone marrow exam shows it too) then it is called multiple myeloma. The treatments for the two entities may be different. Your oncologist should explain it to you, if you ask,.
