Probably not: What you're describing could be due to nerve irritation of the nerve going to the muscle. Could be a local problem in the thumb or forearm. Could also be coming from the origin of those nerves in the neck. Three days duration is not yet a reason to be worried. If it persists or recurs frequently then it should be more thoroughly evaluated.

YES: You don't give your age or any history, but if you are over about 40 or have had any neck or head injury or smoke or have any high blood pressure, cholesterol problems or are on BCPs or have any family history that makes you susceptible to stroke, you need to be seen. NOW! It may be absolutely nothing. Or it could be devastating. Don't take any chances. You're covered, please go get an exam!
