A member asked:

Can ear infection with recurrent wax blockage and repeatative suctions cause mild confusion and slight drop in concentration level?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ear wax & concentrat: Ear wax and suctioning can cause people to get dizzy due to the air currents created in the ear and the stimulation to the semicircular canals. The dizziness can be perceived as confusion but is usually self-limiting. Just tell your ENT that you are dizzy and he or she will slow down and not be as aggressive with the suction apparatus. Good luck and feel better!
