A day or two: It takes a day or two for UTI symptoms to start to improve. Keep taking the antibiotic as directed and drink LOTS of fluids to keep high urine flow. You can also ask your doctor or chemist about phenazopyridine (Pyridium® and other brands in the US) to reduce discomfort during the couple days before the antibiotic kicks in.
