A member asked:

I have a serious emphysematous cystitis sent home with iv antibiotics but i'm not feeling better. what signns do i look for before i return too the er?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See answer: Emphysematous cysitis (ec) is a rare entity characterized by pockets of gas in and around the bladder wall produced by bacterial or fungal fermentation. Most commonly seen in diabetics. Controlling your sugar and taking the correct antibiotic will usually result in cure. Fever (>101)/chills, nausea/vomting, or noticeable/increasing abdominal pain should prompt call to your md or return trip to er.
