How would i know if someone is faking depression?

Watch them closely: Depression affects all aspects of your life. You do not enjoy the things the things you used to, it is difficult to do routine daily tasks. It cannot be just turned on and off. While a person may have some good days, they still mentally struggle. If someone is calling off work or missing committments because of "depression" and instead are out at the mall - they are likely not depressed.
