Suicidal?: Thank you for asking about your very depressed friend. If he is thinking of hurting himself, or wants to die, it is important to call the police. I know this sounds harsh , but you may be preventing his suicide. The police can take him to a psych hospital where someone can evaluate his depression and if his is at risk of hurting himself, they can keep him under a 5150 order. Please call, now!

If the person can't take care of him/herself or has plans to commit suicide then please take him/her to the ER or call 911 for help. Have a physical exam by a Dr. to rule out illness. The most complete evaluation for medication is with a Psychiatrist. Please consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy to cope with depression with ZOOM.com sessions.
