Change the toe.: Wearing gel tubes and constantly wider shoes, puts you in a position of ever increasing concern for an ever increasing severity of the problem. Altering the toe position through several optional surgical procedures are usually the best way to treat a stubborn hammer toe deformity of the little toe.

Hammered toes: Hammer toes develop when the foot flexors take over the extensors and a hammered appearance of the toe ensues. They can be painful and despite wider shoes and silicon covers, may need to be corrected by a surgical procedure. A Podiatrist should be consulted to explain to you the procedure and its risks. Good luck.
