A member asked:

Do you think i can treat a small keloid on my neck that has been there past 10 years with silicone gel?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Kenalog (triamcinolone) injection: You can certainly give it a try to see if the keloid responds to silicone gel, but I believe that it is very unlikely. To the extent that silicone gel helps, it is generally for fresh scars or active (irritated) keloids. It is much more likely that an injection of Kenalog (triamcinolone) would be helpful. Of course, as always, you need to see a physician to have it evaluated first to see if this would be helpful.
