It's not lead: It's an amalgam which is made of materials that you should not worry about. After 13 years you should be seeing your local dentist for an exam... that old filling might need replacement, they don't last forever. Discuss putting a white filling in if it makes you feel more comfortable.

Yes/no: Yes in large amounts anything is bad N0, dental fillings (if silver) contain alloy/mercury but it is like a cement mix where you only get release of material at the time of placement and removal. Once it is set it is at a solid state.
