Yes: Having a kidney transplant will. Ot prevent you from having cosmetic surgery. Your risk profile for things like infection and your ability to heal may be effected by your immunosupression. Prior to undergoing any type of procedure it is important for you to discusd the risks involved with both your nephrologist and your plastic surgeon.

Usually Yes.: Most patients who have had kidney transplants are able to undergo cosmetic surgery. Medical evaluation and “clearance” by your nephrologist/transplant physician will be helpful.

It depends...: It depends on the surgery, and your medical status. Since your transplant, you will be on a number of immunosuppressant drugs. These increase the risk of infection, and reduce your healing speed. Some smaller surgeries, like an eyelid tuck (blepharoplasty) might be more reasonable to consider than something large (like a tummy tuck). You would need to get clearance from your kidney specialist.

Plastic surgery: Medical clearance from you doctors would be the right thing to do. If planned for properly this should not hold you back. The doctor will likely perform fewer procedures at one then if you were not on immunosuppresion.
