Yes, the effects of: stress can subconscious, below the surface of our awareness. They can manifest in physical symptoms we don't recognize. If your doc has ruled out medical conditions consider seeing a clinical psychologist for stress management training.

Yes: Stress is hard to measure and affects each person differently. It is possible to feel "ok" while unaware your body is reacting to stress. That said, before saying a physical symptom is caused only by "stress," medical causes should be ruled out. This often means a physical exam plus diagnostic tests. See: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/145855.php I hope this helps. Best wishes.

Do your thoughts: feel pressured? How's your self-esteem? Do anxiety disorders run in the family? Consult with a mental health pro and learn proactive ways to lower stress--different ways of thinking, meditation, exercise, etc. Here's a starting place to assess your own anxiety: http://www.psychologyproductsandservices.com/page2.html
