Talk to the surgeon.: Please follow your surgeon advice. One week is a good time frame for antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication to take.

3-5 days: If placement surgery was not complicated and tissue reflection not extreme, then 3-5 days should suffice. If pain becomes an issue, 400 mg 3xday should be enough. Inflammation for this is typically fairly minimal. Ice for the first 48 hours is helpful. but many do almost nothing and put up with the swelling / pain. Stay hydrated. Good Luck.

As needed only: The placement of dental implants usually does not create a great deal of pain or inflammation. Ibuprofen 800 mg may be taken every 6-8 hours as needed for pain.
