Hard to determine : Without seeing the rash and examining you, it's really tough to say whether viral. Chances are it is, as over 80% of these type scenarios are indeed viral. However, there are bacterial and ricketsial diseases that can do what you describe as well. Since you're not improving, it may be time to get reassessed and maybe even some lab work to see if this still fits the "just a virus" category.
