Bronchiectasis: I wish there was an easy way to fix this but scarred bronchial tubes can't be mended. In rare cases surgery can be indicated if the affected area is localized only. Prevention depends on the underlying cause but if it was caused by a one time event like an infection it won't progress. Best wishes
