I get major pain in my shoulder blade area of my back. to the point it's like i don't want to breath because the pain gets so bad. any idea of cause?

Be seen: If you get back pain that is bad enough to cause trouble with your breathing, you should be seen to rule out a pulmonary or cardiac cause, includingg a pulmonary embolism. That being said, a pinched nerve in the mid back, or a peri scapular bursitis can cause similar symptoms and simple treatments are available which are effective. It would probably require an exam and studies to diagnose.
