A member asked:

What does "ica dissection with chronic healing" mean on an mri report?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ICA: I believe that ICA refers to the internal carotid artery on that side of your head if the mri was of your brain. The report describes a tear in that artery that was contained enough so that healing of the torn area sealed off and healed without hemorrhaging and that a major vascular and brain catastrophe was averted. Of course the physician who ordered and reviewed that report can better answer
