Canker sore: or aphthous ulcer is a small shallow sore or ulcer inside the mouth. They can be caused by mild injury but often there is no known cause, but often seem more common during viral infections. They usually heal in 7-10 days. If it enlarges significantly or lasts longer, please have it evaluated.
