Hard to guess: Usually, a person with new throat symptoms can be tested in the clinic with rapid test swabs for strep throat and influenza. Tonsillitis may also be mono (the EBV virus). Now, throw in some oral sex and the day gets more interesting. One must tell his doctor what "oral sex" refers to, and what diseases his partner might have. The doctor can then do additional tests and maybe use other medications.
