I've had strep throat at least 3 times this year. tonsils swollen w. pus pockets. now i'm coughing up strawberry looking mucus? what should i do?

Time for eval: Various infections and events can cause the tonsils to swell/become inflamed. Viruses like mono, strep, stomach acid from throw up, etc. At some point many choose to remove the tonsils to help reduce the intensity of tonsil infections but it does not eliminate your potential to have strep later. Time to see your doc and discuss your options.

Mgt: The source of bleeding needs to be identified and treated. Please see your PCP. You may need a culture and antibiotics.
