Yes, they do: Over time, teeth can shift. No reason the RPD should do more harm than good, unless it doesn't fit properly or meticulous oral hygiene is not maintained. Have you considered dental implants as a replacement for your missing teeth?

Yes: Teeth will collapse into vacant space. Flipper is a temporary space maintainer. See your Dentist for a more permanent solution such as an implant/crown.
