A member asked:

Non clean catch urine test positive for sm amount of bacteria, blood md said possible infection can it still be accurate if it wasn't a clean catch?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

More unlikely,,,: A clean catch urine is done to make sure bacteria from the surrounding area don't contaminate the specimen. If it wasn't done then it's likely the bacteria from the surrounding area was responsible for the test result. The urinalysis is important in conjunction with other tests to determine infection, especially where it is so others tests like blood tests would help indicate infection.
