Interesting symptoms: There are many causes of headaches, but if you have muscle tension, it's possible that a pressure point on the other side of your head is relieving the muscle tension. Your neurologist may be able to confirm this on examination.

Agree, and...: Sorry to hear :(. I agree with Dr. Rutledge, but also want to mention two things. First, unilateral (one side of head) headaches should be evaluated for other causes than tension headache. Also, you mention using lortab- using pain killers more than twice a week (even if for your lower back pain) can cause rebound headaches. Hope that helps!
