NDPH: New daily persistent headache. These headaches are characterized by a relatively abrupt onset of headache (within 3 days) that does not remit and is persistent. It has been suggested that this headache may be related to immune changes possibly related to the epstein-barr or similar virus but this hypothesis needs further investigation. Fortunately, these headaches are mostly self-limiting.
