Dr. can check ear: Not sure if skin changes in the outer part of the ear canal would be related to "wooshing" sounds. Whooshing sounds are usually due to pressure changes in the middle ear, inside the head, not at the outer ear. Allergies, colds, and other reasons for one's Eustachian tubes to not work well, can lead to whooshing sounds. The skin changes should be looked at during an exam at the doctor's office.
