A member asked:

Is it true that people who smoke cigarettes have a lower risk of parkinsons than nonsmokers?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cigarette Smoking: Some studies have showed lower risk of Parkinsons in cigarette smokers. However, more recent studies indicate that smoking a larger number of cigarettes per day may not reduce the risk. In general, studies collectively indicate cigarette smoking is a serious hazard to your health. Avoid if you can as any potential benefits will never out weigh the risks.
