A member asked:

Is it true that cigarette smoking actually helps with ulcerative colitis? and it makes it less likely to develop parkinson's disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Apparently??: Apparently it does reduce symptoms of ulcerative colitis. I cannot state much about Parkinsons? There is some benefit to coffee/caffeine but not cigarettes? (I'm pretty sure that if I am wrong I will be corrected). Anyways, would not use this as a reason to smoke.
