A member asked:

I've got a dry/tickling cough that's persistent enough that every breath i take can trigger it. what's the best thing i can do to break it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends on why: you have the cough. If you cough every time you take a breath, then it is pretty serious. If you have bronchitis, you need to be seen by healthcare provider to get proper treatment. Some cough drops (e.g. Ricola) or cough syrup can help. If you cough because you have severe acid reflux, or cancer, or runny nose/allergies, then you should treat the underlying condition first.
