Kenalog (triamcinolone) is a steroid: Steroid injections have a definite place in treatment of joint injuries. The type of injury, the health of the patient, the experience of the injector, and the risk vs benefits of the treatment, must all be taken into account. Discuss your concerns and your other options with your doc.

Shoulders: Basic general term for most articular injections is "Steroid " shot. The actual components vary but usually involve some anesthetic and some type of cortisone preparation( they vary depending on the strength or potency)
