Better not repeat it: Steroid injections, some are long acting , aren't meant for ongoing asthma treatment or even acute asthma attacks. If you truly have asthma, treatment is different, yes steroids are used but inhaled, in asthma flares, short acting oral steriods are used for a short burst. Your best bet is to see an asthma specialist, check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area, best wishes
