Combination: The best way to rule out or rule in sleep apnea is with a sleep study--if a careful history and review of symptoms leaves the matter unclear, as it may. Ask your md about it.

Big difference: A panic attack is a violent and unreasoning anxiety and fear. Sleep apnea is when you stop breathing in your sleep. You may experience daytime sleepiness, memory problems and lack of concentration. Snoring and high blood pressure are frequently associated with sleep apnea. You will frequently wake up at least 3-4 times per night and may experience insomnia.
