SAD: Seasonal Affective Disorder is a condition in which a person gets depressed as the days get shorter & sunlight is less. It's hard to diagnose in teens because it coincides w/the start of the school year, which can also cause teens to feel stressed and/or sad.EITHER WAY,YOUR FEELING OF BEING LOW IS REAL. Ask your parents if you can see a counselor to talk this out & figure out how to feel good again!

Help for S.A.D.: Seasonal Affective Disorder has all the symptoms of major depression except it's triggered by decreased exposure to sunlight when the days shorten in fall and winter. Talk to your school psychologist or social worker about how you feel. Tell them you need help convincing your parents to at least let you see a doctor for an evaluation. SAD is treatable.
