Yes: A response is considered as a rise in hemoglobin of at least 1.5 g/dl sustained for 8 wks AND a reduction in the number of RBC units by at least 4 units over the current 8 wks compared to the previous 8 wks. Doing some proportional adjustment:He required approximately 8 units the previous 8 wks and the estimated units for the current period is 3 units. Assumming his hemoglobin rose at least 1.5g/
