I am due to have my pancreas removed in a few weeks. how will this affect me?

Pancreatectomy: Hi. I'm sorry. I hope it goes well. Why are you having your pancreas removed (e.g., cancer, chronic pancreatitis)? Are they taking the whole thing, or only part? If the whole thing, you will need to be treated with pancreatic enzymes each time you eat, and with insulin for the diabetes it will cause. If only part being taken out, you may not have to take anything. Good luck!
