Depends . . .: Check out http://goo.gl/CKFxvH which suggests tapering off Proton Pump Inhibitors but to expect rebound effect lasting 4wks-3mo if you didn't need it in 1st place. But before stopping Nexium, (esomeprazole) ask your doc why you were started in 1st place. Check out http://goo.gl/CNpeoD which discusses several different groups receiving these PPIs. Also learn to avoid foods & lifestyle which aggravate heartburn.
