A member asked:

Why does scoliosis causes costochondritis sometimes?is it because the ribs are protruding in the wrong way?

Potentially: Patients with scoliosis do have some degree of an asymmetric trunk rotation (atr) and this can cause some deformity at the ribs as well. This could potentially out you at increased risk for episodes of costochondritis. Don't hesitate to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss.
