Yes: Costochondritis can cause rib pain. Typically, the pain associated is worse with breathing, particularly deep breaths. You can have sore spots on the ribs as well, sometimes sharp stabbing pains. Sometimes can feel as if someone is sitting on your chest. If there is any concern for a heart attack, you should be evaluated right away.
