I asked to be on an antidepressant for postpartum depression but the 50 mg zoloft (sertraline) is making me feel more sad and out of it. will this go away?

Try another drug: People differ in their responses to antidepressant meds, and you may do better on a different SSRI medication. Ask your doctor to try a different one. If you are breastfeeding, this drug is compatible. Make sure any other drug is OK for you. Often talking with a professional is more effective for depression, consider CBT psychotherapy with an experienced psychologist. Look for support groups.
