Not the best: Ciprofloxacin is not the best option for GBS. Others in this family may have better MIC (a measure antibiotic activity against certain bacteria) if this class is necessary based on allergies or other contraindications to penicillin-based antibiotics.

Yes: This should be adequate treatment for a min uncomplicated UTI (meaning your kidneys are not affected) as long as you are not pregnant. If you are pregnant, an alternative drug should be used due to the potential for cipro (ciprofloxacin) to cause problems during pregnancy.
