Depends: That very much depends on which medication and also how late you are considering a "catch-up" dose. For example, if taking Keppra (levetiracetam) twice daily and accidentally miss a dose, it's best to take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless you're already within about 3 hours of the next scheduled dose, in which case it's better to wait for the next scheduled dose.

Never take extra: It all depends which one , so ask your doctor ; As a general rule , If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if you are within six hours of your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Never take extra to catch up. If you forget more than one dose, contact your doctor.
