Nerve compression?: It seems the pain is related to posture. It's possible that you have compression of the root of a thoracic nerve as it leaves the spinal cord. These nerves travels beneath each of your ribs. Straightening the spine relieves the compression. Sit in a straight backed chair and keep the spine erect when sitting. See your physician if the problem continues.

Diagnosis: It would require a specific diagnosis, i would not hesitate to be seen. Typical causes would include abnormalities in one of the structures of the left upper quadrant such as the lung, stomach and pancreas, or an irritation of a nerve in your thoracic spine. Consider being seen for an accurate diagnosis.
