I had a tibia sesamoidectomy 3 weeks ago. when i stand, my foot immediately begins to swell. the color of my foot changes to a reddish & blue color. how long will it take for the swelling to go away & begin walking. also how long does it take for the pain

Open Sesamoid!!: Removing the tibial sesamoid can sometimes cause some pain and swelling in the area of the ball of the foot for several months. The swelling should be isolated to the area of the ball of the foot. The color change you are describing sounds like the circulation may be a little sluggish, especially with the effects of gravity while standing. You need to ask your surgeon for his assessment.

Ice is a good friend: ice and elevate that foot. consider an elastic anklet to help with the edema.
